The renowned fashion illustrator and celebrity portraitist, Alvaro was a protege of Antonio Lopez, the Factory icon and illustrator. Like Warhol, Alvaro has transitioned from a commercial illustrator to poignant a fine artist. When Alvaro would hang out at the factory as a youth, Warhol would always be telling him how “fab” everything was including Alvaro’s art. With a youthful tear he asked Lopez how come Andy thinks his art is like a laundry detergent!!!
